dry needling arm 4

Target muscle tension and release pain — with a precise, science-led approach.

Dry needling is a modern therapy based on Western medical principles. It uses ultra-fine needles to target tight muscles, trigger points and dysfunctional movement patterns — helping reduce pain and restore range of motion.

It’s often used to support injury recovery, reduce chronic tension, or relieve stubborn muscular pain that hasn’t responded to stretching or massage alone.

What does it involve?

Your therapist will insert very fine stainless steel needles (.22–.3mm in diameter) directly into the affected muscle or trigger point. This causes a micro-stimulation in the tissue, encouraging a release of tension and an improvement in muscle function.

On insertion you may feel:

  • Nothing at all
  • A brief local twitch response
  • A mild scratch or brief electric shock-like sensation

What is it used for?

Dry needling may help support:

  • Pain relief (chronic or acute)
  • Muscle strains or overuse injuries
  • Trigger point release
  • Reducing tightness and muscle guarding
  • Improving mobility and range of movement
  • Postural imbalance recovery
  • Training or sports-related recovery

It’s often used alongside physiotherapy, massage or osteopathy to maximise long-term benefit.
